OUR WORK

OUR WORK

Every Land Rover we work on has a story, and over time we’ve found ourselves giving each one a nickname. It’s our way of keeping track when we’re talking about them, and the names usually come from the type of vehicle, its registration number, or a quirk of its history. What starts as shorthand in the workshop often sticks, and before long the whole team is referring to a project by its nickname.

These names capture a little bit of the personality of each vehicle and remind us that no two restorations are ever the same. Whether it’s a hard-working Series truck that’s spent a lifetime on the farm, or a Range Rover with a colourful past, every project is personal to us - and the nicknames are part of the fun.

ABOUT US

WHY WE DO IT

Electric Overland was founded in 2019 by two old school friends, Chris and Neil, who have shared more than 30 years of friendship and a lifelong passion for all things mechanical. Both of us grew up with fuel in our veins and Land Rovers at the heart of that passion. Creating Electric Overland was a natural step – a way to bring together our skills, our experience, and our love of detail into something we could share with others.

We’re a small company, and that’s exactly how we like it. Being hands-on means every job gets the care and attention it deserves. Detail matters to us – from the way a panel sits, to the feel of a switch, to the finish of a restoration. If Chris doesn’t know something about Land Rovers, it probably isn’t worth knowing. His deep technical knowledge, paired with our shared pride in craftsmanship, shapes everything we do.

What makes us most proud is not just the vehicles we work on, but the relationships we build along the way. Most of our customers become long-term friends of the business, coming back to us again and again because they know we’ll always treat their project as if it were our own. For us, it’s never just a job – it’s about trust, care, and taking pride in every single detail.

At Electric Overland, we don’t just work on Land Rovers. We live and breathe them.

PEOPLE

Chris Savidge - Electric Overland Owner

Chris Savidge Jnr

Chris is a qualified master technician with a degree in Electronics and a natural eye for detail. From an early age he was surrounded by Land Rovers, spending countless hours in the workshop with his late father, a builder, learning how things worked and how to put them right. His first vehicle was a 1977 Series 3 with a quarter of a million miles on the clock, bought from his dad, and it sparked a lifelong passion.
